San Diego: How We Rolled in 2008 Empty
PostSubject: San Diego: How We Rolled in 2008   San Diego: How We Rolled in 2008 EmptyWed Dec 31, 2008 9:03 am

Written for another group on marcab.org:

San Diego Anonymous started out with around 90 people showing up in February and March for the global raids. Over time, the number of participants has dwindled, now we have a solid core of about 20 people who show for the globals, and a flash raid crew that has under 10 people in it. The San Diego cell is now down to the few determined, dedicated anonymous who want to see this thing through to the end. San Diego anonymous really delivered this year!

We got our cards into the Comic Convention, and anonymous was outside every day of the event; handing out cards and fliers.

We joined with LA anons to march in the huge Gay Pride Parade here. Thousands of fliers were handed out to parade goers, informing the gay community of Scientology's homophobic doctrine.

This year, the San Diego org purchased an 8 acre piece of real estate that once housed Coleman College. On Halloween, anonymous went through the local neighborhood surrounding the property, handing out fliers door to door, informing residents of Scientology's abuses and what they can expect with them as neighbors.

Through our laiason with the SD Police Department, we were able to warn the police about several front groups which have infested community events in the past, specifically the Drug Free Marshals front, which collects contact information from children signing their "Say No to Drugs" pledge, as well as handing out goodie bags stuffed with L. Ron Hubbard propaganda.

Our impact on the org has been entertaining. They put up free standing panels anchored with cinderblocks when we arrive. These panels block the view from the front office, as well as concealing people entering the org.

San Diego launched the concept of the troll raid. This variation on "what if you gave a party and nobody came" doesn't give direct results. But, knowing the cult, they have to act on such things. Their own doctrine makes it impossible to ignore us. Probably the most epic troll launched this year was aimed at Gold Base, targeting their vulnerability at using Golden Era Productions as the polling place for Gilman Hot Springs. A crumpled flier strategically placed on the dashboard of our car, where the security guy could film it, suggested that Anonymous was planning a raid on election day. Every voter would pass by our signs and banners! No doubt hours of sleep were lost as the cult tried to figure out how to handle this situation. Do you turn on the Gold Noise and look like creepy idiots?
Do you BAWWW to the cops that anonymous is electioneering too close to the polls?
Do you just grit your teeth and hope for the best? We may never know. Guaranteed, sleep was lost and DM was probably a very sad and angry panda.

The police are well aware that the Scientologists cry wolf. They know that we are law abiding, more or less orderly protesters and they don't hassle us. We have a good rapport with law enforcement, and do nothing to threaten that relationship.

And the cult, they just turtle up, crank their lulzy Scilon music and wait for us to leave. They have kept people inside until midnight, waiting for the 'all clear.' They have ordered in pizza while they wait.

Our Scilons are big believers in hiding, something Hubbard was contemptuous about. He favored confrontation, and his followers take hours of courses, learning to confront and shatter suppression. Think about that the next time you see them scuttling from the parking lot to the org, head down, not in looking our direction.

Communication is the one big thing they sell, and none of them can do it. They either ignore us, or come out to regurgitate a prefab infomercial that we've all heard before.

Well, they will have 2009 to work on it and get it right.
